Happy Equinox and blessings for the Astrological New year! The Vernal/ March Equinox happening today falls on 19th/20th or 21st depending on the leap year and your time zone. This also marks the first day of the Sun in Aries , so the commencement of Aries season and the Zodiac wheel, recognised worldwide as International Astrology Day!
On the September and March Equinoxes, the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal. Seasons are opposite on either side of the equator, so the March equinox is called the Spring (or Vernal) Equinox in the northern hemisphere. While in the southern hemisphere, it's known as the Autumn (Fall) Equinox. Either way the start of the astrological year is always at 0 degrees of Aries, no matter whether it's Spring or Autumn. Interestingly 20th March every year also happens to be World Storytelling Day (a celebration of the art of oral storytelling), International Happiness Day, World Rewilding Day AND World Oral Health Day according to https://www.thereisadayforthat.com
